Bocce Court Construction
The following Bocce Court Construction resources may assist you in planning and building your own courts. The State Finals Courts at Clayton Community Park feature a “crushed gravel” surface, 6” x “6 pressure treated framing and French drains.
The following links will differ on some specifics. Build your courts the best way they suit your participants, facilities and budget.
Requirements from the NCSG Rules Book:
The playing surface shall be reasonably flat and level and may consist of packed dirt, fine gravel, artificial surface or short grass.
Court Dimensions may range from 60’ to 95’ long and 12’ to 15’ wide. The recommended size is 60’ long and 12’ wide. The foul line range is 4’ to 10’, relative to the total length of the court.
Construction Resources:
Portable PVC Courts (option 4)(see photo below, no link). Three and four inch PVC pipes, which allows them to be stored inside each other. Photo from Carteret County Senior Games.
